History

  • 1983 – Fluoro-Seal opens for business in Houston. The first plant started in a modest 10,000-square-foot warehouse and was relocated across town three years later to add the capacity required to meet rapidly increasing market demand. Primary market applications was barrier for HDPE bottles for agricultural chemicals
  • 1993 – The company diversifies into multiple applications including healthcare, consumer product goods, food packaging and others. Fluoro-Seal has 14 facilities across the US
  • 1998 – Fluoro-Med, L.P., Fluoro-Seal’s joint venture with Exfluor Research is formed. Fluoro-Med manufactured ultra high purity per fluorinated products for the pharmaceutical industry. Fluoro-Med quickly establishes a reputation for quality and reliability.
  • 2000 – Inhance Performance Additives is formed, by the acquisition of Composite Particles. The companys’ offerings now include surface modified polymer additives, including fibers for use in thermosets, coatings, adhesives and inks, for high wear, low friction applications.
  • 2002 – Fluoro-Seal develops capabilities to treat film and fiber for surface activation. Commercial applications include tire cords, non woven fabrics, and improving printability on films
  • 2003 – Fluoro-Seal celebrates its 20th anniversary. The company is the only commercial toll fluorination facility in the country.
  • 2006 – Fluoro-Seal gets into the business of treating fuel tanks to comply with EPA and CARB regulations. The technology is adopted rapidly by the industry and is the #1 preferred solution for off-road engine fuel tanks
  • 2007 – Fluoro-Seal gets into the business of treating bulk containers for chemical storage. Treatments include plastic intermediate bulk containers and drums. Fluorination to date is the only method to impart barrier properties to plastic drums
  • 2011 – Fluoro-Seal continues to thrive as it celebrates the treatment of its 2,000,000,000th product. The companies diverse range of markets now include automotive, industrial, fuel systems, packaging, consumer goods, healthcare, building and construction and transportation
  • 2012 – Fluoro-Seal is acquired by Arsenal Capital Partners, a private equity firm, based out of New York.
  • 2013 – Fluoro-Seal is rebranded to Inhance Technologies, to reflect the number of different markets and applications that we serve. Inhance commercializes Reactive Gas Technology™ for surface modification of plastics
  • 2014 – Inhance introduces the next generation of barrier technology; the DuraBloc Process™. Enables Inhance to treat Rotomolded fuel tanks to comply with CARB and EPA regulations. Applications include, marine, OPE and other constructions.
